The insurance fund that protects your money is administered by an independent agency called the National Credit Union Administration. This agency administers what is know as the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), which insures your shares in the same way the FDIC insures savings at other financial institutions.

This means that your savings are federally insured up to $100,000 per account at your credit union.

Only Regular Share accounts at the credit union are insured up to $4,000 with Life Savings Insurance through CUNA Mutual Group. This means that the amount of your coverage is based on the insured balance of your savings on the date of your death and how old you were on the date of each deposit.

Insurance is on the member whose name appears first on the share account. All members who qualify for Life Savings Insurance are included for coverage. For a complete copy of the Life Savings Policy terms and conditions, contact the credit union office.

Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurances are available to borrowing members wishing to purchase this type of coverage. The Credit Life insures borrowers up to a maximum of $30,000 per loan. The Credit Disability Coverage insures up to a maximum monthly benefit of $600.00. If the insured is disabled for more than 14 days, then the disability benefit will begin with the 1st day of disability. The maximum age for both insurance coverage's is 65.

Share Accounts at the credit union are covered with $ 1,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance for one year at no cost to the member. Eligible members must complete an enrollment card through CUNA Mutual Group. Additional coverage is also available.

Travelers checks by American Express are available in amounts from $200.00 to $1,000.00. The cost of this service is $ 1.00 per $100 purchase.

Money orders may be bought in any amounts up to $1,000.00 The cost is $.75 per money order.
